GSA Resolution on Sanctuary Campus Passed!

DAC is very excited and proud to report that the GSA passed the Sanctuary Campus resolution in special session last night!  The resolution supports the UC Statement in support of Undocumented Students made by President Janet Napolitano’s office (UCOP) last week.  It also:

  • calls on UC San Diego to extend the UCOP policy requirements to all UC San Diego employees;
  • calls on UC San Diego to put a moratorium on office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruitment on campus;
  • calls on UC San Diego to require that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Border Patrol do not wear uniforms, drive marked cars, or bring weapons to campus during recruitment;
  • calls for a meeting with necessary administration to discuss implementation of the above.

Thank you to all of you who helped support this issue!  We will keep you posted about the outcomes of the meeting.

Pick one up for FREE, tomorrow, Wednesday 11/30 @ the Grad Student Lounge in the Old Student Center.  We’ll be handing them out between 1-3pm.

See you there!
