Habitation for the Global Village!

In response to an influx of refugees from Syria, the International corporation of Ikea has pooled resources, research and survey work with the UN’s to design, produce and donate sturdy camp homes to the newly-homeless refugees.

This article includes a blueprint of the design. The estimated cost of production per unit is about equivalent to $1000 each.

Since the UN began as, well, a union between nations, this event is a good example of corporations having the same power that nations do. In this area, both national and corporate entities alike have a unique way of helping to alleviate the tension of the situation.
