The Stories Booth Journey

The Stories Booth chronicles our journey to build a better food system.  By collecting stories and presenting them in a number of venues, including farmers’ markets, conferences, and community events, we invite folks to listen to one another’s stories and tell their own!

As the Foodways and Foodscapes collection of stories and maps grows, we have begun to recognize the importance of tracking where we’ve been.

  • The Story of Vacant Lots was presented at the SESD Farmer’s Market Earth Day Celebration. April 22, 2011.
  • “How Collaborative Food System Ethnography Grows” was an interactive poster presented at The Society for Applied Anthropology Conference, “Bays, Boundaries, and Borders” in Baltimore, MD, from March 27th through 31st.  You can access the multi-media components of that exhibit here.
  • The Stories Booth was presented as an exhibit during the Cesar Chavez Community Tribute Day of Dialogue at the Educational Cultural Complex, April 21st, 2012.
  • The Stories Booth will join the San Diego Community Garden Network at the “Celebrating Community Gardens from the Ground Up” Event, May 19 2012.
PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU WANT TO CREATE A STORIES BOOTH AT YOUR FOOD SYSTEM EVENT.
